Last night, The Radclyffe School was delighted to welcome back our Class of 2025 and their families for a fantastic celebration of excellence at the annual GCSE Presentation Evening.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise the hard work, dedication and personal growth of our former students, many of whom have already moved on to further education, apprenticeships or new and exciting opportunities.

Throughout the evening, students were presented with their GCSE certificates alongside a wide range of special awards. These included the Governors’ Awards for Outstanding Achievement and Outstanding Progress, the Cranmer Education Trust Award for All Round Merit, the Headteacher’s Award for All Round Merit, Full School Colours, Student Leadership Team recognition, and subject awards for Outstanding Achievement and Progress.

Each award celebrated the effort, resilience and commitment demonstrated by our students during their time at The Radclyffe School.

Former Year Manager Miss Hunt also joined the celebration, supporting the presentation of certificates and reconnecting with the cohort she guided throughout their school journey.

We were especially honoured to welcome Akke Rahman as our Guest of Honour. Akke, a mountaineer from Oldham and the first British Muslim to conquer Mount Everest in 2022, delivered a powerful and inspiring address to the Class of 2025 and their families.

Sharing his extraordinary story of triumph, perseverance and personal growth, Akke spoke about the challenges he faced on his journey and the lessons he learned along the way.

He reminded students that the “mountain” is not always a physical one – it can represent any ambition or obstacle we encounter in life. His message was clear: believing is achieving, setbacks are simply steps in the journey, and success should always be celebrated with humility.

Akke’s words offered students a real-life example of resilience and determination, encouraging them to continue striving for their goals, whether in education, careers or their personal lives.

He also had the honour of presenting many of the evening’s certificates, creating memories that will stay with students and their families for years to come.

The evening also featured speeches from our Chair of Governors, Mrs Webb, Headteacher Mr Cregg, Deputy Heads Ms Catlow and Ms Bennett, and our current Head Girl, Aniqa, each reflecting on the achievements and character of the Class of 2025.

We are immensely proud of everything this year group has accomplished. Their achievements, both academic and personal, stand as a testament to their hard work and determination.

Huge congratulations once again to all our students. You continue to make us incredibly proud.
